The B&B San Ferdinando B&B, which is named after the original name for Piazza Trieste and Trento, is situated in a particularly interesting urban context, dating from the seventeen hundreds. It forms part of a collection of protected historical buildings situated on the hill Pizzofalcone, adjacent to Piazza del Plebiscito and the city’s 18th Century Monuments.

The building which hosts the bed and breakfast belonged to the princes of Capracotta, while along the same street Palazzo Sanfelice, Palazzo Caracciolo, Palazzo Serra di Cassano (home to the Italian Institute of Philosophy) and the 15th Century Nunziatella Convent (now home to Naples’ prestigious Military College) can be found. With less than a five minute walk, it is possible to reach both Piazza Plebiscito and Piazza Triese and Trento, where the historical Grand Café Gambrinus, the Prince Umberto Gallery, the San Carlo Opera Theatre and the Royal Palace are situated. Also within walking distance one finds the Piazza Municipio with the Angioino Mask Castle and its famous door, the shopping district of Via Roma and Via Chiaia, the Saint Lucia Quartier, and the Sea Front of Via Caracciolo and Partenope.

The location of the B&B guarantees excellent transport links to the rest of the city. These  transport links have been recently renovated and modernised and the area is served with numerous bus routes, as well as by the Line 1 of the Naples underground (metro) and an efficient taxi service. From Piazza Trieste and Trento it is possible to reach in minimal time the ancient Greek-Roman Area of the city, the Via dei Pastori and Via dei Presepi, the characteristic and lively market area, the Mediaeval and Baroque areas, the National Archaeological  Museums, Capodimonte, Saint Elmo’s Castle, the Pinacoteche Galery above the city accessible by three cable cars and all the remaining innumerable sites and monuments which make Naples such a rich historical city.

Even the distance separating B&B San Ferdinando and the Main Train Station and by extension Naples hinterland is easily traversed by purpose made transport links, therefore making trips to historical and archaeological sites surrounding Naples very pleasant – sites such as Pompei and Ercolano, Vesuvio, Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast. Meanwhile, only a few steps are required to arrive to the port, where an impressive network of public boat routes running until late evening will take you to the islands of Capri, Ischia and Procida.
